Doing Things Differently
Children's Contribution to the Conference
Throughout the planning for this event, children’s contributions were vital. On the 23rd February 2007, a group of children aged from 5 to 11 came together with their teachers to Manor Hall Conference Centre in Leamington Spa. They spent a very exciting and active day exploring and experiencing the ways in which they learn best and the sort of the curriculum that engages them and gives them what they need.
Following on from that day, a number of schools are pursuing their ideas to produce work that will be displayed at the event. One school created a display all about their Planet Project: exciting cross-curricular work which they planned and developed in collaboration with their teacher. A group of children attended the day and made a film which was shown to all delegates at the end.
